as well as ‘claws and jaws’, used in the poem makes the original expressions sound musical. Such an aesthetic effect of musicality captures and fascinates children readers while it is also a challenge to any translators. Professor Zhao’s version sounds beautiful with alternating rhymes of ‘a’ in “ba”(“巴”) and “ba”(“罷”), ‘ai’ in “kai” ( 開(kāi)” and “lai” ( 來(lái)” ‘i’ in “mi” （ “ ) “ ), “糜” and “qi” “氣” . Here, the expressions ） （ ） of rhythm in Chinese, dealing with the assonance in English, turn out to have similar effect with original ones like ‘ile’ in the first stanza and the alternating ones of ‘in’ and ‘aws’ in the second stanza. On the contrary, Li’s version fails to represent the rhetorical effect due to its possible ignorance of both assonance and rhythms, though it is more faithful to the original contents. To some extent, the assonance or the rhythm is more important than the content in a poem, especially a poem in children’s literature, for the musical expressions can motivate children’s imagination and arouse their feelings. If the poem is not melodious enough, it will make the young readers probably feel bored and tend to skip it, let alone attract them appreciate the vivid poem. 4. Data Analysis 4.1 Methods of Analysis The purpose of the research is to explore the features of TCM texts as a particular text type and to seek for a corresponding translation strategy which can serve as reference for translation practice. Therefore, the focus is not on the translation skills in detail but on general rules that can be used as principles in handling translation of this type of text. On the other hand, since at present TCM is regarded as an academic discipline of medical science, its texts should belong to those of science and technology. As a result, the issue of terminology must be taken into consideration during the analysis except the common analytical aspects of textual study. So the data analysis in this project will cover the following aspects: a) the strategies on translating technical terms of TCM, b) textual coherence through translation, and c) change of voice through translation. 4.2(世博北京翻譯公司) Analysis of Data 4.2(世博北京翻譯公司).1 The strategies of translating TCM terminology Technical terms in EST (see 2(世博北京翻譯公司).2(世博北京翻譯公司)) are generally in the form of proper nouns, but the terms of TCM usually appear in phrases. As a result, the conversion from ST to TT inevitably involves the transformation between linguistic units, i.e. from word to phrase, from phrase to word, from phrase to phrase and from phrase to sentence. In the following analysis, the TCM terms from ST as well as their counterparts in TT are singled out and classified based on their linguistic unit conversion during translation.
