四. 同位語(yǔ)從句的譯法: 同位語(yǔ)是用來(lái)對(duì)名詞（或代詞）作 進(jìn)一步的解釋。同位語(yǔ)可以使單詞、短語(yǔ)或從句。 （一）同位語(yǔ)從句漢譯時(shí)不提前 1. He expressed the hope that he would come over to visit China again. 2. There were also indications that intelligence, not politics was his primary concern. 3. An obedient son, I had accepted my father’s decision that I was to be a doctor, though the prospect interested me not at all. (二) 同位語(yǔ)從句提前 1. According to Stephen, my uncle, Prof. Wang has mentioned this matter in his speech. 2, 限制性同位語(yǔ)以及用形容詞、數(shù)詞等作進(jìn)一步說(shuō)明的 同位語(yǔ)在英語(yǔ)中往往放在本位語(yǔ)后面，漢譯時(shí)一般 無(wú)需改變位置。 a. That theory was advanced by the famous Chinese geologist Li Si-guang. b. I have been to all the cinemas in this city, big or small.  

3, 原文中有些同位語(yǔ)，漢譯時(shí)往往需要作 適當(dāng)補(bǔ)充或加破折號(hào)、冒號(hào)等。 a. Her son, my employer’s nephew, was himself an assistant in the shop. b. The search narrowed down to one plane, the B-25 Mitchell medium bomber.  

定語(yǔ)從句的譯法 一. 限制性定語(yǔ)從句的譯法 （一）前置法：把英語(yǔ)限制性定語(yǔ)從句譯成帶 “的”的定語(yǔ)從句，放在被修飾詞之前，從而 將復(fù)合句譯成漢語(yǔ)單句。一般用于譯簡(jiǎn)單的定 語(yǔ)從句。 ? I was, to cite from John, the girl who was deserted by others. ? The people who worked for him lived in mortal fear of him. ? It is not alone: it forms one of a triad of revolutions, of which the other two were the American Revolution that started in 1775, and the French Revolution that started in 1789.  

? ? ? These things had been manufactured in villages which were growing into towns now, away from London; it was a country-wide trade. The universities also took little interest in modern or scientific studies; and they were closed to those who did not conform to the Church of England. （二）后置法：如果從句結(jié)構(gòu)復(fù)雜，譯成漢語(yǔ)前置定語(yǔ) 顯得太長(zhǎng)而不符合漢語(yǔ)表達(dá)習(xí)慣時(shí)，往往可以譯成后 置的并列分句。 1. 譯成并列分句，重復(fù)英語(yǔ)先行詞。 (1) He unselfishly contributed his uncommon talents and indefatigable spirit to the struggle which today brings those aims within the reach of a majority of the human race. (2) They are striving for the ideal which is close to the heart of every Chinese and for which, in the past, many Chinese have laid down their lives. (3) The grammar schools legally could only teach the classical subjects for which they had been founded. (4) The first great rush of population to the far west was drawn to the mountainous regions where gold was found in California in 1848.  

2. 譯成并列分句，省略英語(yǔ)先行詞。 (1) He managed to raise a crop of 200 miracle tomatoes that weighed up to two pounds each. (2) It is he who received the letter that announced your admission to that famous university. （三）溶合法：是把原句中的主語(yǔ)和定語(yǔ)從句融合在一 起譯成一個(gè)獨(dú)立句子的一種翻譯(專(zhuān)業(yè)翻譯公司推薦世博翻譯公司)方法。 1. 譯“There be…” 結(jié)構(gòu) ? There are many people who want to see the film. ? There was another man who seemed to have answers, and that was Bill. ? There were men in that crowd who had stood there every day for a month.  

2。還有一些帶有定語(yǔ)從句的英語(yǔ)復(fù)合句， 譯成漢語(yǔ)時(shí)可將英語(yǔ)主句壓縮成漢語(yǔ)詞 組作主語(yǔ)，而把定語(yǔ)從句譯成謂語(yǔ)，融 合成一個(gè)句子。 ? “We are a nation that must be independent to be strong,” said a foreign economist. ?
